I just got an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I have seen a huge battery drain when using the camera. No matter if I just take a photo, or record a video, it will literally consume 1% of the battery for every minute I spend in the camera app. Therefore, the battery life of the iPhone 14 PM would be just 100 minutes if used intensively for taking pictures

I wanted great battery life and the best camera I could get, like I did on my 6s Plus, so I looked into the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. At first, the 13 Pro Max seemed like the obvious choice since it looked relatively similar to the overall size of my 6s Plus. Maybe a little bigger, but the 13 Pro was definitely more narrow than my 6s Plus.
I have only had the phone for six days, but so far I have been impressed with the 13 Pro Max. I came from the Note 8 so there were going to be some natural improvements regardless of which new phone I selected. However, there a few things that stand out. One, the display and refresh rate are markedly improved. The base S23 is basically an iPhone 14 Pro. iPhone has better battery and cameras, Samsung has better GPU, CPU, more RAM, and better display. The fact they exchange blows, yet the S23 is $200 less is quite remarkable. (If you game or want plentiful generic performance, choose S23. If you photo/edit/render, get 14 Pro)
I prefer the Max over both the better battery and big screen feel like a true upgrade coming from say a 12 or even an 11. The 11’s downside was the IPS screen it uses didn’t have any backlight control. 13 vs Pro I’d go for the Pro personally but if you don’t care about the extra camera or 120hz screen go 13. 5.
The things that the 13 pro max upgrade for you (almost twice the battery life, larger 120hz display, much better cameras, break resistant glass, processor that is twice as fast) are much more meaningful on the day to day use. IDK, there is something about these chips that utilizes battery better while playing video and audio so we might not see the increase with a test without any of either (the article described 100% web surfing). Apple lists the 13PM as 25-27% better than the 13pro for video and audio play.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is my first device in the Plus/Max line. While there are pros and cons I will say that the battery life is REAL. I didn't have a 15 Pro, but I did have a 14 Pro and it seems the battery life is similar. I'm ending my normal WFH desk with 80% battery instead of 60%.
